Kevin - I just meant that the option menu allows for different sorting choices, one of which is by track number, but like I said, if I choose this, the songs list view then groups all 01s etc together, not a view I would want - Andy ----- Original Message ----- From: Kevin Lloyd To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Saturday, January 19, 2013 1:05 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Sorting album tracks in iTunes Hi Andy. Yes, following those instructions results in the tracks being presented in playing order and not alphabetical order. I also see album playing order when I have songs view enabled and not in song alphabetical order. What do you mean by selecting track number from options? Regards. Choose an artist, and arrow right in to the albums list for that artist, and press f6 to bring up the songs on that album, are they in playing order, or alphabetical order? For me, it's the latter, unless I choose track number from options, but if I do this, and then look at the songs list for the library, I get all the 01 tracks together, followed by all the 02 tracks, etc etc. What I wanted was to see the songs in alphabetical order when in the entire songs list, but for them to be in numerical order when looking at individual albums. So far, I haven't found how to do this. If I left click on a column heading, there are no menus showing up, it just keeps me in the list - Andy ----- Original Message ----- From: Kevin Lloyd To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Friday, January 18, 2013 7:19 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Sorting album tracks in iTunes Hi Andy. My track lists are in playing order whether I have songs, artists or albums checked. Not sure why your view shows differently but I can only suggest to try left clicking on the album column heading in that view to see if that puts the albums into track sequence. Regards. I know that if I move out of the column and go back to search library, and tab to and check the albums view, the tracks then in the albums column revert to numerical order. I had hoped to be able, when in whatever column, to go to options, and choose the sort I wanted, just for that column, but it appears the chosen sort order gets applied across all columns, until the tick in the check box is changed. Hope I've explained this ok. It's no great issue in the scheme of things, and I can certainly live with it, I just wondered if I'd missed a trick along the way - Andy ----- Original Message ----- From: Kevin Lloyd To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Thursday, January 17, 2013 8:03 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Sorting album tracks in iTunes Hi Andy. The tracks are presented in track number order by default. Are all your albums sorted in this way? What view are you using, song, artist or album? Issuing a left mouse click on the title of the column will effect a sort and there’s also an apply sort fields option in the applications menu, though I haven’t played with this as my albums are all presented in track number order. So far, if I select an album, and look at the tracks, they are in alphabetical order. When I transfer music on to my iPhone, I am able to see the tracks in numerical order, but not in iTunes. Can this be changed? - Andy
