Hi all,
I was just wondering if it is possible to set a short-cut keys to turn on
and off the talk back on the Sony Bravia android tv?
Thank you
Ali

Not really, because you are saying Olympus recorders don't do it period, I
am just correcting that.

All the best

Steve

if one isn't aware of that particular model, then it is perfectly fair.

Hi Simon,

The Olympus LS-100 does have level adjustment while recording, in fact, it
is an old fashioned two ring dial, so you can adjust each channel
independently.

So it isn't fair to say Olympus doesn't have level adjustment.  The lS-100
in fact, is a very nice recorder.

All the best

Steve

Subject: [access-uk] Re: recording outside

first, what type of outside recording are you looking to do?
I.E, wildlife, general atmospheric, sports/action in which you are taking
part, or something else.

second, have you got any plans as to what sort of media you intend using?
I.E, analogue, digital media, (such as dat or minidisk), or digital solid
state, (such as smart phone or memory card).

when I can, I like to do wildlife recording, I generally like either my
marantz cp430 tape deck, marantz pmd650 minidisk, or hhb porterdat,
generally using a rode nt3 stereo mic, in a 20inch parabolic reflector.
the rode nt3 also has a very nice wind cover available for it, rather
distastefully called the "dead kitten" which if you are going to be using it
with out the reflector, is a good idea for outside recording.

I've also used the plextalk and Olympus recorders, which are nice for ease
of access, small size, and general convenience, but I have found lacking in
hardware controls, such as level adjustment whilst recording, and are often
limited by the size of memory card they can take, when smartphones now can
generally either take larger capacity cards, or offer more storage in
general anyway. also lately, there have been some rather nice recording
interface boxes coming out for use with iPhone or android phones, such as
the apogee duet, (iPhone only), or the iRig pro, (iPhone or android), which
offers one hardware controls, and proper xlr mic connections. another
advantage of going the smartphone rout, is that a number of the recording
apps now offer the option to upload, or share recordings as soon as they
have been made.

hope this helps.

Simon
