When you run the install are you also setting your radio to receive the
update by using the software update function in the menu on the radio itself.
If not the installer won’t do anything and your PC won’t even detect the radio.

instructions on how to install the voice during the installation.

when you say upgraded, are you talking about connecting it to the
internet and downloading new firmware?
I've not got around to doing that because someone told me that it changed
to another voice, a less pleasant male one.

There are very clear instructions given during the installation so just
run the setup file and you'll have no problems.
