Agree, Barrie. But before we start feeling picked on, my husband, who is
sighted, is always complaining that cooking instructions are written in tiny
print.

Like me, many vi people only know grade one Braille, so we wouldn't be able to
read contracted Braille.  Those who can read contracted Braille would have no
trouble reading uncontracted Braille.

Cheers

Hi why should labels be in uncontracted braille (some of us prefer contracted
braille) and it takes up less space.

Hi Gary,

Good points, but surely it would be best that labels are in uncontracted (Grade
1) braille?

Second, braille in bottles does requires that the moulding tool used to create
the bottles has been added.  Clearly this is best done at the initial tooling
stage.

Embossing on to cartons is a decidedly tricky matter,  and I know has been
looked at.

George

Hi all.

First off moderaters, I hope this is allowed on here, if not I do appologise.

Something is really puzzling me and I don't know if many people have noticed
this who are blind.

Have you ever noticed when you or someone you know goes to the supermarket, if
they pick up a bottle of bleach, any bottle no specific brand required.

If you feel towards the bottom of the bottle, you'll notice it says that in
contracted Braille! Bleach I mean.

Well what's really puzzling me is if they can do this with Bleach and vertually
all medication these days, what's stopping companies from doing this with Milk,
Yoghurts and stuff like that!

I mean take one of my bottles of Bleach I've got at the moment, the Braille at
the bottom is really raised up clearly!

So obviously they are using some kind of ingraiving tool to somehow ingraive
this onto the bottle.

Anyway just an observation.

When I mentioned the Milk and things like that, I'm refurring to the date.
