Just one more thing, on my laptop which is identical, the screen doen't light up until I push it right back, can the laptop screen be adjusted or do they just where out? Do the sensors get dirty? Mum and I ran some checks today, the memory was fluctuating between 3 percent free and 40 percent free, Something tells me that one of the chips is dodgy. It could be that your mum's one is suspect. If the battery still doesn't get charged up, try swapping batteries next. You could have got a dud new battery. Not common, but it can happen. Can somebody please perhaps suggest reasons why this laptop is behaving like this? Its very frustrating when it does this as you could be on line doing something and after ten minutes it turns off, it also over heats I think. Once you have rebooted it, it turns off again ten minutes later. Please could some one help. This is mum's computer and she like me is frustrated with it. Also the battery doesn't charge up, even though it's a brand new battery.
