Jackie, with cheap tickets I think you have to book a month or so before hand if
you stand a chance of getting a good deal.

Sounds as if the London event might be easier to socialize at than Sight Village
which can get very manic. Add to that it's usually hot when that's on and you
can
have a pretty unconfortuble time of it.

Not likely I'll get to meet anyone I know or want to meet anyway, so it's time I
gave Sight Village a miss.

Cheers,

  Hi Phil

To be honest, these events are as much of a social occasion for me as they are
useful for what you learn from the technology.

Looks like I'll have to set the alarm for the middle of the night then.
(groan.)
Actually we really enjoy travelling by train. If Ian gets a good enough signal,
he plays with GPS while I tend to listen to music and sleep anyway.

Hope to see some of you there if we can get cheap day returns ... now that's
another laugh. How is it National Rail will always tell you there are lots to
be
had, except when you book in advance, they tell us at our station there aren't
any
left. Never fails!!

Yes may well be useful Jackie, I have a hospital appointment that day
otherwise I might have made a trip down myself, it's often more who you meet
there
more than the sorts of technology you get to look at although that can be
interesting too.

Perhaps I should do some googling of my own for similar events in my area or
perhaps I'll just wait until the summer for the joys of Sight Village having
not
been able to make it for the past year or three.

Anyway enjoy the day if you do end up going.

    Cheers,

    Phil

Correct Ron, they didn't. Well, sounds a useful event anyway.

Thanks for that Ray. I am sure that you won't be surprised to know that
the
RNIB didn't know who was coming.

      Cheers

        Hi All

I know there is a Solutions to Computing event on Tuesday 18 March at
RNIB
Judd Street between 10 and 4. Who, in addition to Computer Room Services, will
be
exhibiting or demonstrating there does anyone know? We kind of fancied a jaunt
down to London, and wondered who is going to be attending.

My son and I will need to be on our best behaviour there though as, last
time we went, we found these battery-powered pepper and salt holders. Well ...
let's just say that when we tried them out, there was real pepper in one of them
and it went everywhere! (chuckle.)
