Hi Phil, and anyone else interested in the Vi-Player.

As I said a day or two back on this list, I did get to have a pretty
detailed discussion with the Vi-Player guy, who I think is Saks - as
the company name, but I've not listened back through the recording as
yet.

I intend editing the recording a bit - taking a lot of my own voice
out of it - and putting it up on Sendspace which I believe allows
files to stay put for a day or two for multiple downloads.

Don't really think it would be suitable for the talking newspaper as
it is a rather techy subject - at least in parts. (May email you
off-list Phil, as we get so little feedback on the newspaper.)

Just end by saying that I know the Stream will be popular as it is
almost with us now, and its size and appearance go with the 'cool
grooviness' that's so obligatory these days. However, I think the
Vi-player would have the edge for less dextrous people who possibly
want something a bit more tactile, which the Vi-player certainly is.
It also has a display which is very clear and some people do like
visual as well as audio feedback.

Won't say more now, but I'll get on with preparing the file for
upload. That is, between listening to Harry Potter, which I'm about
10 per cent through at the moment.

Cheers for now.

Hi Ray

I too went to Sight Village hoping to look at the VI Player but he was
not
there at all on Thursday. Will you be putting your recording on
Sandwell
Talking Newspaper?

Hope to speak soon.

Phil
