David
Thank you for getting back to me. I had thought of using the Be My Eyes app but
first wanted to get some idea of the screen layout so that I did not appear to
be a total idiot when speaking to the volunteer.

Hallo Peter,
We have a smart meter. For some one who is blind the screen that shows what
power you are using can not be read. I know that RNIB and british Gass are
trying to get a display that will talk!!!
As far as I know their is no app that will work with this devise.
I have just had a thought—I wonder if one took a photo using Taptapsee or some
other app like this. Could one be able to read the photo?
David.

Today had smart meters fitted. The fitter left a Secure PIPIT 500 in-home
display unit. The fitter did his best to explain but as helpful as he was
trying to be English is not his first language. This display is supposed to
show electricity usage in real time. Have contacted National Grid Smart and
they are going to get back to me.
In meantime have not been able to find link to download a quick-start guide.
Can anybody pleased:
1. e-mail me the link or guide off list.
2. Suggest an Android app which is compatible with this display.
Thanks for any help.
