James I think some people say Fring is OK. You have obviously used it. Is it satisfactory before I go to the bother of installing it? Steve told me it is free. I would not trust Vodafone though they will ppobably want to charge me.Smile.

I have tried IMPlus for Skype, the quality was relatively similar to the quality of Fring, and I was not impressed with the way they have setup Skype calling. Basically, you call someone, and your phone sends a message to Skype telling it to call your phone number. Then, your phone number is forwarded to the Skype ID of the person you want to call. Thus, for one thing the cost is quite high as a consequence, and the audio is transcoded a couple of times before it reaches you.
