That is exactly as I have my skype set. I open it with a hotkey from the desktop, and when I have finished with it I quit the program from the system tray. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Steve Nutt" <steve@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Hi Peter,

You can do that too. Simply go to Tools then Options and in general, untick
the box that says start Skype when Windows starts. Skype 4.1 is awesome,
don't let silly things like this put you off.

All the best

Steve

I have gone back to 3.8 until they sort it out as I only like to run skype
when I wish to use it.

Hi Peter,

Yes, I can confirm this odd behaviour with the official Skype. If you try
to
do it, it sends the machine really weird. For example, if I hit the
applications key on the Skype icon, the context menu doesn't seem to open, even though Window-Eyes says it, and from then on, I can't get back to the
desktop, I have to reboot the computer.

Really odd.

All the best

Steve

I installed the official release of Skype 4.1 yesterday having been
running
the beta for a few weeks without any problems. My problem with 4.1 is that

I

am unable to quit Skype from the system tray. Is anyone else noticing
this?
