I understood that much. However, when you tab past that checkbox and across the listbox listing the individual hotkeys, there is a button you land on that, depending on the status of each individual hotkey, that either reads "enable hotkey" or "disable hotkey". Even if the one checkbox you get to first is checked, you still need to hit the "enable hotkey" for each individual hotkey to be used including the predefined one.

To enable the "pgup" and "Pgdwn" hotkeys, you would move to each of them individually in the listbox and when you sit on

pgUp

in the list box, then tab once to "enable hotkey", hit your spacebor to enable it, and then tab back into the list and arrow to PgDwnand when you sit on it, tab to "enable hotkey" and again hit your spacebar on that to enable this hotkey also.

The same needs to be done for each additional hotkey to be used.

Sorry for the longwinded description. I realize your friend might have ddone this already also but just wanted to make sure you are aware of that second button and its function.

Cheers,

Doris

Can you get on the phone or on skype with her and go thru the options together with her? It sounds to me as if she is missing a step. there is a checkbox to globally enable global hotkeys but each one still needs to be set manually. I've had mine enabled so long i can hardly remember the defaults but I think there was a step in addition to checking the one checkbox. Sorry I can't be clearer at the moment.

I suggested that but there isn't a conflic. When she presses alt page up, her jaws just says alt page up.

Do the hotkeys conflicht with any other that are enabled on the system? Try to alter one of the hotkeys and see if that works.

The point is that none of the available hot key combinations are working for her.

Hi, Peter,

While the hotkeys to answer and hang up a call are predefined in skype, you can go into the hotkeys option and assign them a new key combination that works for your friend.

As some of you will probably know, with the recent releases of skype you no longer use the letter A to answer calls but have the choice of hotkeys all of which require use of the alt key along with a choice from which you can select. THe problem is that in the case of my friend, none of these hot keys will work for her, and the only way she can answer calls is by going through the menue. Does anyone have an answer forthis problem?
