I use it occasionally, not as often as I should but it does seem to get updated, as I said in another message, i'll sometimes turn it on and its back to the welcome channel, the other one in the lounge does this too and thats on every day, its on right now actually as I'm videoing [DVD] a movie off channel 5. two more later

It depends on how old.  When was it last used?  If it has been too long
since it the software on it has been updated, which happens automatically
through teh dish, it will not work.  I think the only way of finding this
out is to try it.

Yep, you can get all teh BBC progs, ITV 1 and 2, Channel four and more
four,
and channel five, plus lots of radio and some other channels.

Can you get channel five? at the moment the only way to get it here is via
the satellite, through the normal arial is a joke thanks to that mountain
behind us

 Whats the betting they will be advertising their Sky service at every
point possible?  I did look at the channels on there, and you do get all
the
BBC and ITV stuff, but the rest is just radio and fringe/shopping
channels.
If you can get Freeview it is a much better bang for your buck imho.
