If the person sending the attachment doesn't inform you to expect it, its
better that you don't see it. Besides, you can leave the inbox with attachments
showing, opting to hide it only in your Access-UK folder and others besides.
Setting options for one folder within Outlook doesn't make systemic changes
throughout the program, though I suspect you could find a way to do so if you
wanted to.

IAt is all very well silencing the attachment icon, but if you do, and
there is a genuine attachment, how will you know?

      Hi all,
If you are using Outlook and experience an attachment being read at
the beginning of every email. Here's how to get rid of it. Hit Alt V to pull
down the view menu. Arrow right into the Current view sub menu. Move to Format
Columns and hit enter. You will find yourself in a list view containing the
likes of, Importance, From, To, Subject, Attachments, recieved, size, etc.
Select Attachments and tab once. You will now be in a selection field
where you can change the look of the icon or turn it off. Turn it off and tab
to okay.
I've just noticed that you can do pretty much the same in Outlook Express
by hitting Alt V to pull down the view menu, then select columns from the list,
The option to hide attachments is a checkbox that has to be checked.

      Peter
