this is why the stand alone device still has it's place. all this messing about
for a blind person is very very difficult indeed. bring back dos.

Hi. It took me for attempts to create that shortcut. I'm saving this e-mail
as I know I will forget how to do it next time. No wonder people are
switching to tablets as it's hard to accomplish simple tasks on a desktop
these days.

Hi.
Go in to the start menu and arrow up to all apps.
press enter then go down to windows accessories.
go in to windows accessories, then press applications or shift f10 on
internet explorer.
click open file location.
when the folder opens, press applications and click on send to, then click
desktop. that'll put it on to your desktop. yes, its a rubbish system and its
long winded, yet another thing that Microsoft in their infinite wisdom
decided to remove from the right click menu.
cheers,
Mo.

Hi. How do you put shortcuts on the desktop as I would like to put Internet
explorer on the desktop as I have to search for it for each time I need to
use it.

I upgraded from Windows 8 to 10 and I feel certain it is running faster and

I got my husband to put the programmes I use regularly as shortcuts on the
desktop and this works well. You would also need to set Firefox or Internet
Explorer as your default web browser as Edge is still not compatible with
most screen-readers and I'm told the media player isn't very accessible
either, but I have no personal experience of this.
It's only fair to add that I am not using Jaws nor NVDA but Window-eyes.
