This is very true, Iain, but it is hard to swallow when RNIB leads in
telling others what to do in website accessibility!

I suppose this is the price you have to pay for having a non-RNIB designed
system. Ultimately development cannot be driven by RNIB.

I wouldn't go so far as to say it is better than the old one, certainly in
terms of layout.  I still believe its layout could be better when you listen
to JAWS, for example, saying "clickable this" and "clickable that."  But you
are right in that it gives us more control over our lists.  It's coming ...
slowly! I would still prefer to have a table for each title giving the
author, name of the book, TB number, reader, date added, whether it is part
of a series, and of course a synopsis.  I would also like to see the
OverDrive website adopt the same format.  For those who are either new to
browsing, or who aren't confident enough to fiddle about, we do need a
simpler layout, and I have told RNIB this more than once!
