This probably won't be of much help, but I can't locate an edit field either
using Internet Explorer 7 and JAWS 10. However, I can using Firefox 3 and
JAWS 10.
Unfortunately I don't know why that should be.

There's a search button, but no edit field. Someone has really screwed up
the beeb for me.
