I don’t know if you have a iOS or android phone with KNFB Reader or one of the
Free scanning apps. if YOU DID i THINK THAT THESE, allied to a giraffe Scan
stand, would probably give you as good IF NOT BETTER results as any MORE
EXPENSIVE PC solution. I also use a cheap Amazon Basic Bluetooth KEYBOARD,
COST ABOUT £10 AS THE TIME. The advantage of the keyboard is that you can leave
the phone on the scan stand alone with KFNB Reader running for example just use
the quick nav commands to control the app and take scans without the need to
fiddle with the fphone. This means when your phone and phone camera is in the
ideal position you can simply leave it there and control with the keyboard as
your phone announces results. Simply swop the documents out underneath the
stand to take further scans.
I think the experience is similar if not better than using Kurzweil on a PC
with a scanner.
Simply export your scan results to Google drive or dropbox or something like
that and your scan results will be immediately on your PC to review with your
word processor.
I bought the Pearl Camera with Open Book when they were on offer earlier in the
year but on reflection did not really get anything better than I already had
with my Phone and giraffe Scan Reader stand already.

Subject: [access-uk] Scanner Help for Kurzweil
I need to sort through masses of single sheet documents, discarding the rubbish
quickly.
What is the best scanner or camera to use with Kurzweil for this?
Alternatively what is the best stand alone machine?
