Hi.

I don't doubt that your software has this function, scan to office is a simple
application for people who just want to do the one task that is getting scanned
documents straight in to office. Incidentally, are you using version 9 of fine
reader?

in my version of Fine reader, on the main menu there are different tasks you
can perform with a simple click. One of them is scan to MS Word. I select this
and the recognized text is opened in MS Word. To me, it's like a wizard except,
this one actually works. In some programs they don't. Had to return to the
classic style in WinZip latest offering because the wizard didn't let me know
where it saved the files it unzipped and it was difficult to stay in control
and keep tracks of things.
  Just my 2 cents worth!

    Hi.

It isn't a cut down version of Fine Reader at all *smile*. Whilst Fine
Reader is a complete OCR solution with its own interface and functions, if all
you want to do is scan documents to office using a camera or flatbed scanner,
its wizard based interface makes this as simple as clicking a couple of
buttons. There are no wizards for doing this kind of function in Fine Reader
as far as I know but the scanning engine both programs use is exactly the same.

    All the best, Ibrahim.

must be a cut down version of Fine reader as in this prog, there is an
option in the main menu to scan to MS Word. I made a shortcut to this to my
desktop and it is the only part of the prog I use. Works very well, That's
version 9, selects the language automatically from the scanned text, works
nearly always but French OCRed and read as if it was German takes a little
while to get used to. Part of the challenges of life for me!

Hi. I just would like to report that the Scan To Office program is
accessible. This is one of the offerings from Abby who do the Abby Fine Reader
9. The scan To Office program loads up as a wizard and all you have to do is to
select the option scan text and hit start. There is a further screen in which
you can make visual adjustments but its just better to hit the scan button
again to confirm the scan. When the scan is being performed MS Word will load
up and the document is scanned into Word. You then just arrow down the document
to read on.
