Exported the addressbook successfully, at least that what it said! The proof of the pudding will be if it imports correctly in OE on the new machine...Fingers crossed and toes as well...And thanks a lot for the help.

Cheers now,
Marie

Hi Marie

Try the following:

1. Within Outlook Express, press control, shift and B to bring up the address book.

2. Now press the alt key and arrow up to "Export Has Sub-Menu" and arrow right to Address Book ... and enter.

3. You should now be in a box where you can put a full path with a WAB extension to save your address book. For example, c:\documents and settings\your name\folder name\address book.wab.

4. Once you press enter to save this, it should confirm to you that it has saved the WAB file in the specified folder.

This will at least allow you to back up that WAB file on another drive. I do it all the time.

If you later want to load that WAB file back into Outlook Express on another PC, you go to "Import Has Sub-Menu", arrow right, and enter on Address Book ...

If you need any more help, please let me know.

Jackie

Probably quite elementary for most of you, but, try as I might, I can't find any info in the OE help files about how to do this. I want to store my addressbook in OE to my external drive and put it on the programme on the new PC once the drive is connected.
Any simple step by step instructions very much welcomed.
Thanks in advance.
