Hi
Can't you use the find files and folders option on the start menu?

This is precisely the method I used to retrieve something in my current
situation, however, I still would appreciate help. I'm working on a
laptop which is and isn't network connected. When it is, I save stuff
to my documents. However, when it isn't and I try to retrieve them,
because My documents is part of the network, I cant find them. When
saving stuff offline, I noticed that there's a location called local
settings to which I've saved stuff. But I can't find it in WE. Anyone
tell me where to look please?=3D20

Hi Mandy,

You don't say what application you used to create it in the
first place.

Many applications have a list of recently opened documents
at the foot of the File menu. See if it's listed there. If
it is, open it and re-save in the correct place.

George.

I've just saved a document but didn't look to see where it
was saved then I looked in My Documents and it wasn't
there: it appears to be saved in something called Oak
something or other: where would I find this or is it lost
forever?
Mandy.
