I am going to Scotland in a fortnight to spend a week with my family and friends there, and one of the things I want to do is use GPS extensively where I can to see what works for me and what doesn't. I am taking my iPhone with several GPS apps that have been recommended, plus Telorion and Trekker Breeze. If I don't find something suitable out of that lot that works for me while there, then I might as well forget it! (smile). I don't have much call to use GPS here at home, so it will be an interesting exercise. Firstly, I have no partiality towards any one particular product or service or any company whose products I promote. I base my comments, reviews and opinions solely on my personal experience, and my experience has taught me that the Navigator despite it shortcomings is a very useful and effective tool given the limited scope of its functionality. Okay, the limitation as you put it is quite glaring, however Sendero products as a rule do have this kind of functionality. It's just that the Navigator App was specifically designed to be simple and straightforward. For anyone to use and serve a given purpose. That is not to say that there will not be improvements in the future, I would love to see a free mode which allows you to plan routes between two points of interest you designate, specifically as you say in your example, you spent some time at a caravan park. The same concept could apply equally to a college campus or workplace campus. Anyway, I feel for me it is value for money and money well spent. I have got BlindSquare on my phone, but to be honest with you I have never been able to get on with it. I'm not sure why, I can't put my finger on exactly what I don't like about the app but it remains seldom used on my phone. I also have Ariadne which I used to use in combination with NAVIGON and although this provided me with an adequate level of navigation, I do still feel that the Navigator app puts everything in one place and at my fingertips more effectively. There's nothing like healthy debate and opinion though, so if you want to, I would love to hear how you get on with using BlindSquare. And any other products, there is no bias and I will try most things at least once. All the very best, Ibrahim.
