The two main differences are reliability and speed.

As there are no moving parts, the SSD's are less likely to break down and the
fact there are no moving parts means that file access is faster.

Subject: [access-uk] SSD Drives

Could someone tell me the advantages of using SSD drives over the normal HD
drives please. Going by the large difference in price I assume there must be
one but when I can buy a HD disc for less than £50 whereas a SSD disc will cost
around £200 I wonder if the advantages will be worth the extra cost.

Many thanks

Roger
