Hi Eleanor.

In a manor of speaking, you simply put the stamp where
you want to sign and the button pushes the stamp against the paper, thus
impressing your signature. When the stamp runs out, you simply reload
the ink cartridge which is extremely cheap to do, so unless the mechanism
fails the stamp is as good for life.

All the best, Ibrahim.

Doesn't it have ink in it? Is that what the button
does, ejects the ink image?

Hi Eleanor.

Precisely, some people can't do their signature very
well, some have difficulty keeping it small enough and
some people can't hold a pen, so this is where a
signature stamp comes in very handy. All my wife has
to do is place the stamp where she wants to sign and
press a button.
All the best, Ibrahim.

I wonder would the signature guide help in this regard.
At least someone can put it n the place where the
signature goes. Trouble I find is making of keeping
the signature small enough. ----- Original Message

Hi Richard.

Fair enough, sound advice but my wife's bank is happy
to allow her to use her stamp, however I'm not privy
to the importance of the documents she's allowed to
sign with it as we keep our banking arrangements
totally separate *smile*.
All the best and thanks again for your input.

As a solicitor, I wouldn't advise using a stamp for
important docs. This is
because,
1. The risk of misuse by a third party is greater;
and 2. even if banks and so on are prepared to accept
use of a stamp, they usually require you to give an
indemnity - which would make you responsible
even if the stamp were used by a third party without
your consent.
I think it's slightly different at work, where I
used a stamp for signing
quite a lot of stuff, but I knew that I was not
likely to incur any liability by doing so.

Hi Richard.

Why not? My wife uses hers all the time for doing
important banking forms,
even for signing work related paperwork. Its your
signature after all, the
stamp is custom made and can easily be refilled with
ink. ----- Original Message -----

Carol, Most stationery shops do them. OK for
letters, but I shouldn't
use them for signing important docs.
