HI George

Nope, I looked for that. I think something went wrong when I lost my cable
connection right at the beginning of the download. I'll have to wait until
SP2 appears on the Windows Update site and download it manually in a week or
two.

Hi John,
Is there an icon in your System Tray (beside the
clock) referring to, "Updates are ready to
install" or similar?

George.

Subject: [access-uk] SP2 Disappeared!

Hi there

3 days ago the automatic updater in my Windows XP
machine offered to download the recent Service
Pack 2. I clicked to download and it indicated it
was doing so and then disappeared from my system
tray! Normally you can get a download progress
report from the system tray but it had entirely
disappeared. I have had some intermittent
connection problems but on the whole I have been
connected (I have a cable modem with 750kb
download).

Yesterday I got the same offer on my second PC
which is connected to the same modem via a router.
The very same thing happened! Now I have two PC's
running Windows XP with SP1 and no SP2 in site...
Is this normal?

John
