You got me intrigued - it looks like you CAN force it to fat32, but it
takes some fiddling.
I found a post on the Sandisk forum, first the link to the post, and
then the rest of this post is the relevant info from that post. Good

I want to use the 64gb card in a Sansa Clip Zip mp3 player which I should be
able to do, but it does not recognise it formatted in exfat. If I cannot
format it down to fat32 as the current 16gb card in it is, Iwonder how I get
it to work in the thing?!

You can't - from the user guide:
"Any SD card larger than 32GB is an SDXC card and has to be formatted
with the exFAT filesystem.
This means the official SD Formatter tool will always format cards
that are 64GB or larger as exFAT."

I have tried SDFormatter but I cannot change it from Exfat to Fat32 with
that.
