Hi Eleanor,

I've just tried the Facebook app and it seems to be accessible. At any rate,
when I went down the screen it read what people had been posting. The menu
button seems quite important in that app as it offers context sensitive options.

The Facebook app also lets you switch to the mobile site, I'm not sure whether
this loads up in the browser instead of using the BlackBerry Facebook app.

Thanks Ed. I like the Blackberry my friends have so will check the models they
have.

Hi Eleanor,

I must confess that I haven't used a phone running Talks for a few years now,
so don't know what the latest access is like or much about the range of phones
available. I'm also not a regular Facebooker, though I might try and dig out
my account details and give it a go on the BlackBerry.

I definitely prefer the iPhone to the BlackBerry, as the functionality of
Apple's Voiceover is better. However, for people who aren't fans of touch
screens, then the BlackBerry is an option worth considering particularly if you
don't want to do much Internet surfing on the phone. It's also significantly
cheaper than the iPhone, and because of its keypad, texting and making calls is
quicker.

Sorry not to be of more help.

Ed

Would you use the reader on a Blackberry Edward and would it do everything you
want it to do. I use Talks and when using Talks on Face Book, it is a bit of a
pain when writing text.

Subject: [access-uk] Review of BlackBerry screen reader

Hi all,

I was reading the latest issue of AccessWorld, and thought some may be
interested in their review of the BlackBerry screen reader given various phone
discussions that have taken place on list over the years. You can find it at
http://www.afb.org/afbpress/pub.asp?DocID=aw130902

I've briefly used the screen reader, and I would concur with the review's
findings with the exception of their description of the screen reader's user
guide, which to my mind is barely adequate.

Hope it's of interest.

Ed
