Hi Andy,

Provided you delete the correct drive, you should be O.K.

However, before you do, may I suggest you try to get the
exact make and model number of the unit, and track down
drivers for it - assuming any exist.

George.

Hi George, well I found my way to device manager through the
control panel,
and did a trouble shoot on the dvdrw drive, and it said it
was working ok.

So, if I hit the del key on it, and remove it from my
system, will a re-boot
definitely find it again? Will the other dvd drive not be
affected by this?

Thanks -

Andy

| Hi Andy,
|
| If you are familiar with Device Manager, you could try
| removing it from there, rebooting, and let the system find
| it again and install it.

| George.

| Hi all
|
| I'm still unable to get my burner drive to respond when I
| insert any kind of
| disc, be them blank, audio, data or dvd! My second drive
| that is just a rom
| drive and not a burner is working ok. Anybody got any
| suggestions what I
| might try to repair the burner. I don't think it actually
a
| burning problem
| as I don't get that far, is just the drive can't seem to
see
| any discs i
| insert in to it -
