My son once worked for the service section of PC World. It's actually a separate company called MasterCare and they have premises around the country in different buildings to the retail stores. Naturally all this has to be paid for. PC World also charges a rent when the service centre is in store. My power supply went on my laptop around a year ago and the local computer repair shop, not PC World charge me £30 That was £15 for the unit and 30 minutes labour at £30 per hour. MasterCare were £50 per hour 4 years ago when my son worked for them so goodness knows how much now.Roger----- Original Message ----- From: "Chris Hallsworth" <christopherhallsworth71@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, November 12, 2008 8:54 PM Subject: [access-uk] Repairing PC'sHi all,I'm curious. My father took his PC into a local PC world store because I suggested the power supply went. This was indeed true, but they've charged him £100 in total, £70 just to look at it and £30 for the new power supply. I can understand the £30, but why do they charge you so much just to look at the thing! Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.-- Chris Hallsworth e-mail: christopherhallsworth71@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx MSN: ch9675@xxxxxxxxxxx skype: chrishallsworth7266 klango: chrishallsworth ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq
