Hi Steve,
I was under the assumption that this new reading service was going to add
braille and epub formats.
I did hear back from the RNIB this morning. I was informed that they are still
moving OverDrive books over to the new reading service. Once that is complete
they are going to start adding other formats such as epub, which is a nice
format to read in braille on the EasyReader app.
Finally, I think it will be a reading service, that is inclusive for UK braille
readers.
All the best, Paul

Hi Paul,
And unfortunately, it’s all Daisy audio only. If it were full DAISY, you could
read in Braille as well, but that would take some doing for the library I
suspect.
All the best

Hi Paul,
That’s great news! I’m a big fan of the EasyReader app, especially on my
BrailleNote Touch Plus. I can only read in braille, so hopefully you’ll be
rolling out more books in epub3 in the near future. I notice currently the
.daisy format is most dominant.
All the best, Paul

Subject: [access-uk] Release of EasyReader
We are delighted to announce that a new version of Dolphin EasyReader is
available to download from your app store.
This includes access to RNIB Reading Services Online Library.
If you haven’t already registered for RNIB Reading Services please do so
outside the app at https://readingservices.rnib.org.uk
From within EasyReader choose RNIB Reading services from the manage libraries
section and sign in with your username and password.
You can then search for a book, download it and listen on your device.
The iOS version has added navigation through the rotor. You can move by 15
seconds, 2 minutes, 5 minutes or by heading.
Currently the “my reading lists” option isn’t available. You can search by
author, title etc. view the latest additions and browse by category. We are
working with Dolphin to improve the functionality of EasyReader and RNIB
Reading services.
Thanks to Dolphin for making access to Reading services possible.
If anyone has questions or feedback please email readingservices@xxxxxxxxxxx
