Thanks for the recommendation, Roger. I will download Recuva and see if it will do the trick. There is no Recycle Bin on an SD card, so the file cannot be retrieved from there. If it's not there and you need recovery software I've used Recova very successfully but not on a SD card so I don't know how that will work. Recova is free and from the same people as CCleaner. A Google for Piriform (the writers) will find the site or www.download.com will take you there. As soon as I realised what I had done, I removed the card from my PC so as not to damage my chances of getting the file back. I've had a look on the internet for programs which might allow me to get my file back and have found there are plenty of options, but can anyone recommend one which is known to be accessible? Thanks, Caroline. __________ Information from ESET Smart Security, version of virus signature database 8597 (20130722) __________ The message was checked by ESET Smart Security. http://www.eset.com ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq __________ Information from ESET Smart Security, version of virus signature database 8597 (20130722) __________ The message was checked by ESET Smart Security. http://www.eset.com __________ Information from ESET Smart Security, version of virus signature database 8597 (20130722) __________ The message was checked by ESET Smart Security. http://www.eset.com __________ Information from ESET Smart Security, version of virus signature database 8602 (20130723) __________ The message was checked by ESET Smart Security. http://www.eset.com
