  Hi. I have used that app and it doesn't announce street names when the
monitor is switched on.

    Oh Many thanks Kevin, that does sound like the sort of thing I want.

    I’ve never used a GPS system before, but what you have described sounds
like what I am looking for.

    Hi Sharon.

    I think Ariadne is a great little app for less than £2. It can tell you
where you are and you can then tap on the start monitor button which will then
announce each street that you walk or that you cross. It will also announce
door numbers and postcodes as you pass. It works equally well on foot or on
public transport.

    Regards.

      Hi,

      Can anyone recommend a user friendly type GPS app for my iphone. I want
something to tell me where I am, and something to help me find new places etc.

      I have no sight, so need something that works well with voiceover.

      Many thanks.

      Sharon
