You could try Blindsquare and leave a marker at the intersecting point. It
varies from day to day on accuracy but it would warn you that the intersection
is coming so you could focus more on finding that elusive path...
I used it for marking bus stands in a large W shaped bus station for a while
and found it quite accurate. However, in recent months, and I’m not sure why,
it’s accuracy seemed to decrease so the alerts could sometimes be a bit too
early at times...
Good thing is that you can drop a marker without taking your phone out if you
have a remote on your earphones or Bose frames as the Blindsquare menu is
activated by pressing the play/pause and then cycles through the menu to Add a
marker where another press of the play/pause will set the marker for you...

Subject: [access-uk] Recommendations for IOS app for navigation!
Hi folks, following the sudden and untimely passing of guide dog Gus I find
myself having to use the long forgotten skills with my long cane, Which I
freely confess, are truely appalling! Think the GDBA staff who came out to help
me will require either counselling or valium or both after their visit! The
area I live in has lots of inter-connecting pathways which for the dog were
straightforward but now I can’t find when I’m approaching them so am missing
turns! Is there a accessible IOS app where I can set alerts to let me know
when I’m approaching a particular turn? The paths are relatively narrow so 1
sweep of the cane and I probably will miss it, So any ideas for apps would be
great! As a aside, GDBA have been brilliant, but given my age, current waiting
list I think my days as a GDO are at a end but I still want out!
