most of even 192 kbps stuff was joint stereo only. Lol I'm not sure of

It hasn't been just joined stereo for a while. You can encode in OGG Vorbis, MP3, WMA, or whatever you like, at whatever bit rate you like, up to CD quality. I am not sure of the legality of it, but I don't care, it's a brilliant site, and the albums I have bought have been of superb quality.

It's got a graphical auth system.
I've written them and asked them to implament an audio alternative system for those of us that can't see the graphics and pointed out Microsoft, Google, Pay Pal etc's efforts to do this.
I think the prices look very fair, hopefully the 192's not joint stereo. smiles.

Steve - had a look at this website myself, and the quoted prices seem to be for 192 bit, but it seems you can choose different rates from 128 up to it would appear 384.

I have in the last week found a download site that addresses this issues, namely www.allofmp3.com.
The site is fairly quick, accessible and easy to use. It offers downloads of popular and not so popular albums in MP3 or Vorbis file formats, and these are not in any special DRM format.
Most albums cost $1.50, but you have to buy in $10 increments.
I have so far downloaded about 6 albums from the site, and have been happy with each one I got.
