Andy,

For my money you could scrap RealOne Player and install Real Alternative which has no such problems. You can get it from
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Real_Alternative.htm

Could be that you wouldn't even want the update, for example if you'd installed the version that you get via the BBC. But not being able to play streaming audio looks like quite a bug!

Subject: [access-uk] RealPlayer

Hi all -

Seems now that every time I try to listen to streaming audio, or grab a
download file that requires RealPlayer, I keep getting an "update your
RealpLayer now" type message, and this is followed by the usual error report
to send to Microsoft. This is with RealPlayer1. Anybody else experiencing
this? There doesn't seem to be a straightforward update link either, but
just a "see what's new" link, which talks about fixing the latest security
bugs etc, but no obvious update link. Very strange, but would like to fix
it, as I can't play anything that requires RealPlayer just now!
