Hi,

Google Maps will also do this for Android users. You can also download the
maps and use them offline. The price tag is even better than Tomtom, it's
free.

All the best

Steve

Subject: [access-uk] RNIB navigator versus Tom tom onits own

Hi all,
On a recent trip of 180 miles to the west of Ireland I decided to compare
the RNIB navigator and my stand alone Tom Tom on my IPhone. After setting up
the route on both I hit a problem with the RNIB product as soon as I left
the house. The program collapsed as soon as I was out of range of my home
wifi. I had no sim card in the Iphone as I use a Nokia n82 for actual phone
calls. I turned to the Tom tom app in my Iphone which I downloaded at half
price in January last. I have a lifetime use of the downloaded maps and free
upgrades to same, all for about 40 eur.
This app is a little confusing at first but once you click on the correct
graphic to get it going the menu opens up and it is plain sailing from
there. Using Voice over I was able to set up the route including favourites
with no problem. The app talked us all the way to our destination with no
need of wifi or a phone connection. This is exactly what I wanted. So, thank
you to Tomtom and Iphone.
Aedan.
