Because Sandwell is a metrapolitan borough in it's own right and has absolutely nothing to do with Wolverhampton. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Saqib" <saqib500@xxxxxxxxxxx>

Hi. Wolves is in the WM's isn't it? I believe it's also a part of the black country. It doesn't make sense why they wouldn't help.

I don't thinkSandwell vision services would help anyone who lives in Wolverhampton. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Saqib" <saqib500@xxxxxxxxxxx>

HI Will. Applying for grants is like getting blood out of a stone. I see so many people and charities collecting for the poor blind but don't know where the money ends up. I know one organization where the money usually ends up in the fat cat directors pockets. This isn't the RNIB before someone shoots me down. I'm afraid Organizations who claim that they help the blind usually help them selves in employing family, friends and spouses. So in one word Will, If you want something then dig deep in to your pockets like me and some others I know of. If your Social Services have a VI Support department then I would contact them to ask for an assessment and from there they will be able to offer you the things that you require for day to day living needs. Since your From Wolverhampton, I would suggest you also give Sandwell Vision Services a call. They can be helpful if they have the resources.

Best of luck anyway.

Subject: [access-uk] RNIB grants

I read that RNIB provide a grant to blind and partially sighted people, to help them buy equipment. If one has savings though, can I assume they are not considered? My mom thinks I should maybe try and apply for a grant for the kitchen aids I need for the new flat I am moving into as a private tenant, yet I have savings, so I wonder if RNIB would consider me? Has anyone ever applied for one of these grants, to help with daily living?
