The one great feature which the BookStream book club offers over the
standard talking book service is that you can order a particular book and be
sure that it will be the next one sent to you. With the standard service,
at least in my experience, you have to send in a list of books and can
receive anything off that list in any order.

what i asking is it is a shame one can not use the book stream directly from
a portable device. why would one want the PC to listen to books?
if one can only use a PC and needs to copy the titles from a cd anyway on to
a portable player why do we need the book stream service?
one may as well just subscribe surely, to the main talking books cd service
in that case?
when the books become downloadable i may consider joining

book stream service and ask for the CD, you can then copy the CD on to your
portable device. That's how I listen on my Victor Reader Stream. It only
takes a couple of minutes to copy the disks so it's no hastle.
