I know that in my case, no direct debit for magazines has been taken since
April.

This is probably why it is being withdrawn. RNIB are probably losing money

I pay for my magazines by direct debit and haven't yet heard that the facility
has been withdrawn. For some time now, the system doesn't seem to have been
working. It has been some time now since a direct debit was taken from me. I
will be keeping a close eye on my next bill to see if there is mention of
direct debit.

Hi Henry,
I don’t but it’s weird. If they used GoCardless, then their transaction fees
would be less than those of a credit card, so I don’t understand it.
We do have the direct debit facility by the way, as I do use GoCardless <Smile>.

Subject: [access-uk] RNIB and withdrawal of the direct Debit method of payment?
Good Evening Folks
I called the RNIB shop this afternoon to order some Loc Dots and was told that
I could no longer use my direct debit facility as this has now been withdrawn
by the RNIB to all customers. The RNIB representative was very apologetic and
vague.
I therefore paid for my goods using my credit card.
Does anyone know why the Direct Debit service has been withdrawn?
Best wishes
Henry
