Hello David, Similar here in Norfolk; I think there are concessions for those with particular financial needs. How much is the Overdrive subscription by the way? Thanks and cheers, Mike -----Original Message----- From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of David Russelll Sent: 26 September 2014 17:00 To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: RNIB Overdrive subscription I have always had to pay for my own talking books, and also my bookstream subscription and now the overdrive service. Good luck to those who get their subscriptions paid for them by Local Authorities, but I do not see why it should be the responsibility of RNIB to arrange this. There is nothing to stop individuals taking up the matter with their own Authorities. They might have more luck than RNIB are having. I do find this post code lottery system rather strange though. Surely the National Government should sponsor library services for the blind in the same way they do for public libraries for the sighted. And now I will retire gracefully and browse overdrive for some more books.
