[access-uk] Re: RNIB Library question

I seem to remember that the same slowness of delivery was occurring a couple of
years ago. Then I thought it was down to CDs getting lost in the post due to
them getting caught on other items due to the silly hole in the cases.

Hi Roger

No, I do realise this, that is fair, but the service of receiving Talking Books
has slowed down markedly over recent months.

My youngest son has a very good friend who is a senior officer in the Post
Office and he, off the record, admits that "Articles For The Blind" mail is
often put to one side when the sorting office is busy. Such as it will be now
due to the Seasonal rush. Therefore it is not always the RNIB dragging their
feet.

Hi Karl

I don't know if it is just me, but the time taken to receive books when we send
some back seems longer nowadays than ever, and I don't mean it just being the
time of year either when we expect the post to be busier.  We really only use
the OverDrive service if our books have gone back and we are without something
to fall back on, but this is very rare since we use Audible as well.

If you find something you want to request from the online catalogue, choose the
Add To Wishlist button, and it will be added to the list you have created.

Subject: [access-uk] RNIB Library question

Hi,

After giving up on Overdrive I decided to go back to receiving talking books
through the post. I've got a list on my wish list but was just wondering how
long it normally takes for books to be sent? I don't quite understand the books
being available and putting them on hold as I thought (wrongly it
seems) that books would just be copied onto media and sent. Life seems to get
more complicated or I am getting less competent.

Regards,

Karl
