Thank you for posting this info. Checking the online shop there are scant
details. I wanted to find out if important cities were marked. I could not
see details of that and the customer service person was unable to clarify.

If nobody has come across this new product yet, you might be interested to
know that it has just been released. In conjunction with the PenFriend, you
can now touch the globe, and various hotspots embedded into it will speak
information about countries, oceans, mountain ranges etc. You can purchase
the PenFriend separately and download the audio files which is what I have
done, or you can purchase the globe and PenFriend with loaded audio files as
a package.
I took delivery of my globe today, and despite loading the audio files onto
the PenFriend, I cannot get any audio when I touch the globe with the nib of
the PenFriend. I have contacted RNIB who don't know much about this
product, so wonder if anyone else has one and can tell me what I am doing
wrong? I have obviously read the instructions for both the globe and
PenFriend, but touching the globe with its nib does nothing.
Any help would be much appreciated as I was rather looking forward to
playing with this gadget. The surface of the globe, I should point out, has
raised portions where land mass etc is indicated, but I really want to get
the audio files working. The files are in MP3 format so obviously play on
my PC. The globe instructions tell you to put all the MP3 audio files into
the Rec folder on the PenFriend which I have done. It's not rocket science
to be honest, but it ain't working!
