I have a Freecom and also a Seagate. I would have no hesitation in recommending both to you.

Hi,I have an external Maxtor hard drive, now about six years old, which has been well used etc. and has now failed so badly that I don't even dare to try to reformat to re-use anyway.First, can anyone advise how I reformat it (or remove all its contents securely) because when I tried to reformat (really to remove contents) I was told it could not be formatted. I want to be sure to destroy all its contents once and for all!Second, has anyone purchased an external hard drive recently and what would you recommend? Thanks, as always, for any input. -- Carol carol.pearson@xxxxxxxxxxxx ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq
