I'd go for Sigmatel Audio, since I have that option on my laptop and thought it was the one to use for a stream also ... but haven't yet got it working! (Sorry if it looked hopeful until the last sentence!)

Tell us what you use, if and (hopefully) when you get it working.

Thanks David. Have looked at my set-up, and can't find stereo mix or
wave out mix in the input devices.

my input device options are
MME Microsoft Sound Mapper input, Sigmatel Audio, Bluetooth audio or
Bluetooth high quality audio.
Any thoughts on where to go next?
Thanks.

Hi,

Audacity can be used to record whatever is playing on your computer,
eg a stream. You need to set the input device to be stereo mix, or
wave out mix, or something similar (exact name depends on the sound
card). If you want to save to mp3, you'll need to download a lame
mp3 endcoder. See the recording section of this guide to the latest
version of audacity:

Hi, I want to be able to record a stream on to the hard drive. Have
got Audacity and Argtronic on this laptop, but can't seem to get it
to work. Anyone know if either prog will do this, and if so how? If
not, what will do it please?
