READING TIF AND PDF DOCUMENTSI'll add to my earlier message that Omniformat is
now supposed to support O C R. How it works and whether it's successful I don't
know, but it's worth trying on some of those PDFs formed from images.

that's the crux of it Ian, TIF is an image, and possibly depending on teh way
they are saved so might be teh pdf docs you have, you'll need to ocr them to
get true text. k1000 can do this to both tif and pdf and then read back or
expect he resultant text files.

Sorry, a colleague has just discovered that the tif reader can convert stuff
for me with its own OCR software.

As part of my work, I'm now having to deal with correspondence saved
electronically as tif and PDF files. I have JFW v6 and K1000, I think v8. My
question. Is it possible to read these documents using either of these
programs or any other software on the PC? If so, how?
