Did you try the following options:
2 finger swipe down the screen to auto read or
3 finger slide up the screen to move to next page?

Hello,
I have very recently purchased an Ipod and am experiencing the following
issue. On going to a newspaper's website and activating a link I am only
able to read the first few sentences/lines of the article (I can then go no
further). Can anyone advise how to read the whole article?
