Hi All

For those who want to make their pc quiet. Here is a link to a website where you can buy quiet fans or power supplies, enclosures for hard drives and even water cooling systems that are completely silent. The link is

I reduced the noise my pc made after buying a hard drive enclosure which more or less eliminated the annoying high frequency whistling that they tend to generate.

I also bought a quiet power supply. The fans in them are large and run more slowly. The only drawback is that they don't exhaust as much heat as the faster running fans in convential power supplies. Hence you need a good CPU cooler.

So I got a better CPU cooler and an in line sppeed control for it, as slowing it's rpm down can dramaticaly reduce the noise. But it's a compromise between noise and cooling efficiency. You have to experiment. If you have a bios utility that can monitor the internal system and CPU temperatures then you can keep an eye on how hot things are running and adjust accordingly.

Darren.
