I think Jackie's offered iPhone is by way of compensation and a good offer at that, waiting for upcoming models is probably not an option in such a case. If one were choosing ones point of entry you would probably consider waiting for iPhone 5. The only reason we all heard upfront about iPhone 4 was because of the one that got out and was effectively sold to a technology blog as stolen goods, the same event is not likely to happen twice given Apple's penchant for secrecy right up to the wire.
