Hi Paul and Steve,
You are quite right, that nut has to be loosened to remove, this is part of the plug. You require an 11mm tube spanner, telescope the aerial down, bring it out straight at the rear of the radio, slip the tube spanner over the aerial down onto the nut, this will reveal the socket, I believe this is the socket that is on many Set-top boxes. Remember to tighten nut when replacing the internal aerial, or it won't remain upright.
Hope this helps.
Cheers

Roy,

Thanks, but where is the starting point of the removable part? At the very
base, there appears to be a large nut, which is done up as though it
shouldn't be undone! So where does the screw part start?

Paul.

If the Sonus is the same as the Evoke, you unscrew the internal antenna, this allows one to connect an external antenna via an F plug. Hi Paul,

There is no reference in the full manual in PDF either, so I assume you
can't, as I can't find anywhere that looks like a place you could connect
it.

All the best

Folks,

If anyone yet owns a Sonus-1XT, do you happen to know if/how you can
connect
an external aerial to the unit please? The manual appears to make no
reference to this facility, but I'm sure I read in the original
specification that you can use an external instead of the internal aerial,
but can't locate anywhere where this might connect!

Cheers.

Paul.
