I think it would have been helpful to at least have some sort of lock on the
device in the form of a slide switch or quick key combination. I don't
understand why sleep mode wasn't left on it, but doubtless someone will come
back with a reason.

Yes, this is an issue for me too. There really needs to be a way to wake the
ElBraille quickly instead of waiting for it to power up from cold.

Subject: [access-uk] Putting ElBraille To Sleep
Has anyone had any success with putting their ElBraille in sleep mode? There
doesn't seem to be an option for this when I look in "Settings/Power and
Sleep". Someone advised me to lightly press the power button to put the unit
into sleep mode but this doesn't work.
It's quite vexing not to have this option in ElBraille as you do in a
Windows laptop/notebook/tablet. Turning ElBraille off and then powering it
up again when going between meetings is cumbersome. I found myself
tip-toeing round the building last week leaving the unit switched on and
just hoping I didn't bump buttons. :-]
So, any suggestions will be gratefully received.
Despite a few gripes, I really love my ElBraille. Windows and JAWS and all
my apps just work. None of this "Sandbox" situation that you get with other
specialist notetakers. Oh, and the price is pretty good too.
