Subject: [access-uk] Product reviews for blind and partially sighted poeple

I've been asked to circulate the following:

We have recently launched an area on the RNIB website where blind and
partially sighted people can find useful short reviews of TV and radio
related products or services written by other blind and partially
sighted users.

For that purpose we want to put together a pool of blind or partially
sighted volunteers to try out and review products or services that we
have identified. We will use a standard template for these reviews, not
to curtail anyone's creativity, but just to ensure that there is
sufficient consistency in the way the reviews are written.

The section is already live and we are getting really good reviews from
the readers -

ges/reviews.aspx

Generally speaking, we would be looking for blind or partially sighted
people who are relatively confident with technology. We would be happy
to take suggestions for things that ought to be reviewed from the
reviewers, but of course our resources to buy stuff are limited. However
we give a commitment that if we decide to have something reviewed and
any items need to be purchased, we would purchase it and loan it to the
volunteer for the duration of their review writing.

If you are interested in reviewing these products, please get in touch
with us on broadcasting@xxxxxxxxxxx
